The story behind the picture
One of my first HDR pictures taken on a cold winter night in Sibiu (Romania). It depicts the lower end of “Pasajul scarilor” (literally meaning: “the passage of the stairs”) which connects the lower part with the upper part of Sibiu. Since there were almost no colors in the picture to start with I tried desaturating it into a black and white version.

I like this image, great tones and a good use of space/sprial/diagonals to engage the viewer.

Thanks for the heads-up Harry, this is quite a coincidence to hear from you since I only published the site a few days ago and was actually planning on shooting you an email. At the moment I am still tinkering with small bits and pieces of the design, i.e. the comment styling needs a make over, etc.
If you’ve got any other feedback as to the design, please get in touch, after all your site was one of two that I used as inspiration. The idea was to keep the header lean and small and the site “simple” as in hiding unimportant parts out of your way as I did with the bottom sidebar and the comments and the story part that slide in on-click. Also the exif info is integrated as a mouse-over effect.
